One of the most important callings of a parish is to care for its own. Although we are always looking outside ourselves and the walls of our beautiful church, we must love and care for one another as Christ does for each of us. St. Stephen’s is blessed to have a core group of dedicated parishioners who on a moment’s notice will prepare a meal for anyone in our parish who is ill, in need, or generally struggling due to life’s circumstances. In addition, we have successfully organized a transportation ministry for the sick in our parish.
Furthermore, St. Stephen’s has a Prayer Chain in addition to its Prayer List. Anyone who would like to be prayed for in a continuous and seamless fashion should be on both of these lists. To request a prayer, fill out the Prayer Form.
On the third Sunday of each month we have healing prayer offered as part of our 10:30 AM Holy Eucharist. We have a newly formed St. Elizabeth’s Guild, where teams of parishioners assist the rector in a visitation ministry.
Often parishioners will receive a birthday or anniversary card in the mail and it is nice reminder that the St. Stephen’s truly cares for each and every one of its members. This is due to our correspondence ministry.
